AI assistants
Whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity may read your site and cite it, and whether your content may train AI models.
Why this matters
More and more people look for a class by asking an assistant — "yoga near me on a Wednesday evening" — instead of typing it into a search engine. When an assistant answers, it names and links the businesses it found. To be one of them, the assistant's crawler has to be allowed to read your pages.
The two things you control
Admin → Settings → General → AI assistants. They are separate on purpose, because they are different jobs done by different crawlers.
- Let AI assistants read my site and cite it in answers — on by default. This is the one that gets you found and sends people to you. Turning it off means assistants stop showing your classes.
- Also let my content be used to train AI models — off by default. Training is a different thing: your words become part of a model rather than an answer that links back to you. Leaving it off costs you no visibility.
The setting applies to your site only. Nothing you choose here changes any other studio's site, and nothing changes how ordinary search engines like Google and Bing index you — they are never turned away.
What we can and cannot promise
Your choice is published in your site's robots.txt as instructions to each named crawler, plus a Content Signal that states what your content may be used for. This is the recognised way to say it and the established AI companies honour it. It is a request, not a lock: nothing technically stops an operator that ignores the rules, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we do promise is that we state your preference correctly and keep it current, and that we never train models on your content or sell it to anyone who would.
What is never exposed
Only your public pages can be read: class names, descriptions, times and prices. Your clients' bookings and details, the booking flow, your admin and everything behind a private link are marked "do not index" and are not reachable by a crawler, whatever these settings say.
One caveat about Google
Google uses a single crawler, Google-Extended, for both its AI answers and its AI training, and does not let anyone separate them. We treat it as an answering crawler, because refusing it would remove you from Google's AI answers — the visibility most studios want most. If you would rather not be in it at all, turn the first setting off.
